daily grind
The daily grind seldom leaves time for the contemplative practice required to be fully human.
We might have the illusion that in the past it was all different, but we should not let ourselves hide in that idealized past, thinking that we were once pure and then something changed.
Even if such a change did occur, we have no option but to work our way through the present with our actions, our intentions, and our love. In the present. Not in the idealized past, not in the imagined future. But now.
