Nonviolent Communication in Colombia

This week I met with wonderful and courageous people working to  promote a culture of peace (Resuena Colombia) in Colombia through Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

We talked about Reality, Observation, Cosmology and Change.

I work a little bit every day to use NVC, mostly to express gratitude and praise. I have brought some of it to the classroom. In one class, I introduced the basics of NVC and then asked the students to give me feedback using the NVC approach. This tends to be the opposite of what is done in typical student evaluations!

Next semester, with the support of Resuena Colombia, I hope to bring more NVC into my classroom and my university.
